The Library recently received a copy of the 2009 Proposed Annual Budget for Topeka and we welcome you to come in and take a look.  This is an important document that will have an impact on multiple aspects of your daily and professional lives and we are proud to offer this opportunity.

The new school year is just around the corner and to help you prepare, the Topeka 501 School District provided the Library with several of their back-to-school guides.  Likewise, the new school supply lists are available online.

GED testing dates are approaching and now is the time to start studying and planning.  Various area institutions provide GED preparation classes and the Topeka & Shawnee County Public Library also has several resources to help you learn on your own.

With the recent heavy rains in the eastern Midwest and forecasters predicting the possibility for more flooding in the Topeka area this year, it is important to know if you are at risk.
