Even though this information is available 24/7, you can’t grab it off the shelf and check it out. In fact, it’s difficult to make a display to promote the library’s electronic resources. You access these databases through the Internet, through the library’s website. Instead of a physical display case, I’ll feature a resource every month in Library Tips and Tricks, with highlights, tips and links to the resource.
This month: Testing & Education Reference Center is a start-to-finish resource with all the information and support materials needed to make informed, confident decisions while preparing for your education and career testing needs.
Use it for the Online Practice Tests
This resource features popular high school, college and career subjects including:
GED prep - including GED Spanish.
AP exams prep
CLEP prep - earn college credit (includes 29 tests).
ACT
SAT & SAT Subject Tests
NCLEX - your gateway to a career in nursing.
ASVAB prep - prepare for the military.
PRAXIS - your gateway to a career in teaching.
Civil service and licensure exams - including the Postal, Firefighter, and Police Officer exams.
GRE prep
GMAT prep
LSAT
MCAT
MAT
TOEFL prep
TOEIC prep
U.S. Citizenship
#1 reason I recommend this resource:
When all of the library’s books on the test you're taking are checked out, you can still access online books and practice tests and get the information you need before your big exam.
Find more great resources on the library's list of Databases A-Z .
