Meet our True Percula Clown
With its vibrant orange color offset with bands of white, it’s easy to see why the True Percula Clown fish is a favorite among marine enthusiasts. These fish are easy to care for, but wild collected specimens have a poor reputation when it comes to hardiness in captivity. Don’t mistake this species as the similar Ocellaris Clownfish, which has more dorsal spines and lacks the black margin around the three bands of white.
What does it eat?
Various plant material, including plankton
Where is it found?
Western Pacific Ocean, Indo-Pacific
Fun fact
In nature, True Percula Clown fish rely on sea anemones, predatory disk-shaped creatures that typically attach to rocks or coral, as shelter from predators, though they do not require anemone to do well in captivity.
