Where is that book?

image

One of the great things about reading is that you can imagine places and people however you want.  I think this is why some people are disappointed by movie or T.V. adaptations of their favorite books.  No actor or movie studio can create a character or scene that matches the one in your mind perfectly.  But what if the setting of a book is a real place? For example, the Gossip Girl books and TV series take place in New York City and a lot of the spots that the characters go are real.  Here is a cool map of some of the places featured in the books and on the show. Twilight

Twilight, by Stephenie Meyer is also set in a real place: Forks, Washington.  This small town has a website that gives a picture tour that shows where Edward and Bella spend time in the book.

If you’ve read the books, are the real life locations close to how you imagined? Do you think that seeing these places make the books seem more real?
