If you could build anything you wanted on the Topeka Riverfront, what would it be? Where on the riverfront would you put it? What would you put under this bridge? What if you won a $100 for your ideas?
These were a few of questions put to the attendees of the newly formed Second Lifer’s club by Stacey Keller a local architect and member of the Topeka Chapter of the American Institute of Architects (AIA). Keller discussed the riverfront project by displaying riverfront maps, a slide show and a video of the current condition of the riverfront.
Then Keller sweetened the pot. She said the Topeka AIA will provide a $100 prize for the best 3D representation on Oz Island. Watch this blog for more information about the contest.
Next Second Lifer’s meeting will be in the SBC computer lab on Wednesday, April 30 6:30-8:30. Teens between the ages of 13-17 are welcome to join the group. Walk-ins are welcome.

Totally cool continuation of the AIA 150 Initiative. Way to go Jean, for being so perceptive and finding a way to get youth involved on their terms and in a fresh context, and for Stacy Keller for supporting this extension of the original competition. Applause!
