To Catch a Pirate by Jade Parker
Annalisa knows that she shouldn’t fall for James Sterling. He's a devious pirate who attacked her ship and stole the treasure that her father was transporting for the King. It is Sterling’s fault that her father was blamed for the loss and is now in jail. She should just capture him, get his information about the location of the lost treasure and never think about him again. But he’s just so handsome…
To Catch a Pirate is a quick read that has a lot of swoon-worthy moments and a dangerously alluring love interest. Annalisa is torn between the proper, society-bred gentleman Nathaniel and the untrustworthy, freewheeling pirate Sterling. This is a very light read, with a lot of pretty scenes and not much substance. If you want more detailed historical fiction that really describes the gritty life of a pirate, try Pirates! by Celia Rees. If you're looking for a cute love story, To Catch a Pirate will pull you into a frothy adventure that's as bright and shiny as the sun glittering on ocean waves.

I listened to the audiobook of “Pirates!” and really enjoyed it (even though it was not a cute love story, the adventure still made my heart race!)
I checked out To Catch a Pirate based on Lena’s recommendation and I really liked it. Are there other pirate stories besides these two?
Hi Hilari!
Some other good pirate books are:
Pirate Curse by Kai Meyer
The Pirate’s Son by Geraldine McCaughrean
El Cazador by Chuck Dixon
The Ship Between the Worlds by Julia Golding
argghh, matey ![]()
