Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland: Teen Second Life Project

image

An anonymous 7th grader wrote: Technology is an integral part of today’s world. Through my involvement with Teen Second Life, I have learned a lot about 3-D animation. I have learned to deal with technological problems with the World Wide Web. There are many things that are good that come out of this.
I have learned a lot from 3-D animation. I have found out there were things so I could create and delete things from it. I have learned to create things that I did not think I could have ever been able to do and learn things about the keyboard that I have not known before. I have learned to deal with the problems of the computer capabilities and have more patience about what I am doing. I have leaned to deal with all annoyances of when I mess up just retry it again and again.
The 8th graders on the project did the most work since they knew more about it than us 7th graders. Still, we did create a lot of things for the set. We have been helping make characters for other people too. I have learned to create clothes and build some cool houses with this technology. It has helped me think I a different perspective. It has helped me think about if maybe I want to do something like this when I grow up.
This project was about Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland. I have found the Disney movie and the regular book are very different from one another. The book is a lot more surreal than the movie. I like that Lewis Carroll can think up these kind of stories.  Thought that it was cool because he was an adult that could think up of all these crazy things and most people thought he was insane because of what he wrote.
I have learned a lot from Teen Second Life that I think would help anybody for to work with. It is a fun way to work no matter what age you are. It has been a great project to work on. Thank you for letting me work on this game.

This has been a very enjoyable experience for me. I have learned very many things from this project. Such as, how to script, build in a 3D world, and manipulate objects. I hope they keep up with 3D programs, as they will help in many unforeseen circumstances.
