The Department of Health and Human Services, headed by Secretary Kathleen Sebelius, has its own YouTube channel.  (who says government isn't cool) is hosting a contest to produce a Public Service Annoucement about flu prevention.  Check out the videos and vote for your favorite at http://www.youtube.com/USGOVHHS.  Have fun!

It is virtually impossible to view Lauren Greenfield's subject matter without recognizing our own community in her photographs.

Evidence of media and pop culture influence on women and girls can be found everywhere, from the mall and coffeeshops to schools and locker rooms. Many of Greenfield's subjects could be our own daughters, wives, mothers, sisters, best friends, girlfriends. Her work can be difficult to look...

Making History: Our Inauguration Day Video Diary

On Inauguration Day, we set up a video camera in the Library rotunda and asked customers to create 2-5 minute testimonials capturing their immediate thoughts and reactions to the day's events.

Over a 7-hour period, 55 people recorded their experiences and nearly 100 people have submitted written accounts (and illustrations!) to date. It is our hope that these voices will be of value to future students, teachers, historians and scholars interested in what Topekans had to say...

Your 2009 Topeka First Friday map is now available. Simply click the image of the map seen below and print from any computer.

The maps are both color and number coded, so it isn't essential you print them in color. However, color makes it easier to see Topeka's growing clusters of art hotspots at a glance.
