Tonight, from 7 - 8:30 pm, I will lead a tour of "Recent Acquisitions." This exhibit features some of the art that we've added to the library's art collection in the past five years.  I'll share some of our history, why we chose the pieces we did, how we organized the exhibit, and what we think about as we build our public art collection. Then I'll open up the talk for questions. Got...

We want to hear your voice.
Let's start a conversation.

It is virtually impossible to view Lauren Greenfield's subject matter without recognizing our own community in her photographs.

Evidence of media and pop culture influence on women and girls can be found everywhere, from the mall and coffeeshops to schools and locker rooms. Many of Greenfield's subjects could be our own daughters, wives, mothers, sisters, best friends, girlfriends. Her work can be difficult to look...

Your 2009 Topeka First Friday map is now available. Simply click the image of the map seen below and print from any computer.

The maps are both color and number coded, so it isn't essential you print them in color. However, color makes it easier to see Topeka's growing clusters of art hotspots at a glance.

If yours is a new venue and you'd like to be added, or is a current venue and would like your contact information changed, email me (Heather) at hkearns@tscpl.org....
