The Topeka Capital-Journal has recognized the Library as a fun place to visit, and to bring a Date for under $20.00 (since it's already paid for, you can save money for dinner afterwards, at our Millenium café.)

The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2 movie, which is based on the popular book series by Ann Brashares, will hit theaters on August 8.  The books and movies follow four life-long friends as they grow up and strike out on their own.  The girls experience lots of heartbreak and joy, but never lose the the support and strength of their sisterhood. Mother's Day is this weekend!  Are you ready? Movie mothers and grandmothers give us their heart and soul, make the toughest decisions, and share their deepest emotions while putting their families first.

This is the first of what will be a series of reviews which cover Oscar winning movies.  The focus of these reviews will not be the blockbuster movies that won eight or nine Academy Awards, but rather those that might have slipped under the radar a bit.  The first movie I am going to review is Glory, which won three Oscars including Best Sound, Best Cinematography, and Best Supporting Actor (Denzel Washington), and was directed by Edward Zwick.
