How can a single author be compared to Kurt Vonnegut, Douglas Adams, Jonathan Swift, Tom Robbins and Dave Barry?

Like many people, I discovered Christopher Moore a few years back with his bestseller

Lamb: The Gospel According to Biff, Christ's Childhood Pal, in which Moore recounts the missing early years of Jesus life in a divinely hilarious, irreverent and inspiring novel. Lamb instantly became one of my favorite novels to re-read and recommend.
