Welcome to the Topeka & Shawnee County Public Library
Enjoy tasty treats from the Millennium Cafe, then vote for your favorite edible books. Prizes will be awarded in the following categories: Best in Show, Most Book-Like, and Most Likely to be Devoured.
The Edible Book Festival at TSCPL is part of the First Fridays Art Walk. Be sure to stop by the Sabatini Gallery to see their new exhibit "Out of Sight, Out of Mind", then head out to the other Art Walk venues. A map of participating locations is here.

So many adults were jealous of the contest
I saw lots of remarks in
the sign in book asking
for “more Edible Book
Festivals for kids
AND ADULTS.
What a fine compliment.
I loved the Millions of
Cats display. Because
it took me back to my childhood in the 50s. That book was one of my
favorites and I had completely forgotten it’s
charm.
And the tiny graham cracker shack with the
grapess stems representing the Dust Bowl. How clever.
Then there was the little
yellow ducklings - splashing into the blue pond. “Are these Peeps or
what?”
Excellent and a whole lot
of fun to study the
exhibits.

I’m glad you enjoyed the Festival! We’re already planning for next year, so mark your calendar for Friday, April 3, 2009.
Glad you liked my dustbowl!
