The Topeka and Shawnee County Public Library celebrated the Edible Books Festival with a reception and display on Friday, April 6, 2007, from 6:30 - 8:30 pm in the Marvin Auditorium.

Over 150 attendees helped our library celebrate Edible book created by Sherry Best. This entry was Runner-Up in the Topeka and Shawnee County Public Library Edible Book Festival, April 6, 2007. the 8th International Edible Book Festival, which takes place once a year on or around April Fools’ Day. Topekans celebrated the intellectual and emotional nourishment that books and reading provide.

Local participants were encouraged to use their culinary skills to make an edible book, using the title or content of a book as inspiration for their creation.
