Wii Bowling - Red Carpet vs. Lexy Cats - The Rematch

Wii Bowling Competitors Dave, Wilma, & ElaineWords can’t really explain it - the competitive nature that took over a group of retirees at Lexington Park Apartments, or rather its Wii bowling team, the Lexy Cats, when they strapped on their Wii remotes and took to the “lanes”.

More than a dozen Lexington Park Apartment residents showed up for a rematch March 3 between the home team, the Lexy Cats, and the visitors, Red Carpet. Lexington Park Smack TalkIn their last meeting, Red Carpet narrowly emerged victorious, and although the Lexy Cats fought valiantly, they fell once again by a slim margin.

The Lexy Cats, though they seem sweet, didn’t hesitate to voice their displeasure whenever a member of Red Carpet would hit a strike or a spare. They also offered non-helpful advice, served up a good deal of smack talk, and pulled shenanigans to make the visitors mess up.

Despite the competition, the entire group exercised good sportsmanship. Whoops and hollers from either team Rachel of the Lexy Catscould be heard when any player rolled a good frame. Everyone cheered when Rachel, a resident at Lexington Park Apartments, rolled two strikes in a row, and marveled at how, despite her low-vision, she can play at a competitive level. (Her secret: She used to work at a bowling alley and remembers where the pin numbers sit when attempting to pick up a spare.)

Lexington Park resident, Bob, enjoying the actionRed Carpet’s Cindy had the highest single game score of 193, while Red Carpet’s Megan had the highest two game total at 336, just barely edging out the Lexy Cats’ Wilma who totaled 334. As in the first matchup, all of the participants and spectators had a great time; we all look forward to the the third meeting which will be coming soon!

See below for the scores and a video which shows some of the highlights of the competition:
