Topeka Faith in Action is a coalition of faith communities and support agencies dedicated to providing informal support services for persons 60 and older with long term health conditions throughout Topeka and Shawnee County.  Their volunteers offer non-professional, non-medical assistance intended to allow the recipients to remain in their homes.

All of their services are provided at NO CHARGE!  The following services are offered:

• Friendly Calls - checking in by telephone on your well being, offering a listening ear; daily or as agreed upon
• Friendly Visitor - someone to come by, talk, play cards, share an interest, build a relationship with you
• Handy Person Help - minor home repairs, periodic yard work chores or light housekeeping tasks
• Grocery Shopping - pick up and deliver groceries and prescriptions from your list, and help put them away
• Respite Companion - staying with the care recipient for a block of 2 to 4 hours a week, providing a friend to be with them, and a much needed break for their caregiver
