Welcome to the Topeka & Shawnee County Public Library
When I heard about the H1N1 flu bug, I flew into action - at least online.
Being a librarian I know where to go to access the best information - sites I can trust to have up-to-date, trustworthy facts and figures. Luckily, I work in one of the best places to access that information, and as a library patron, you have access to those resources as well.
Here are a few sources that I recommend, both library research databases (magazine-based searchable sites that the library subscribes to and pays for), and readily-available, free to the public sites:
Health and Wellness Resource Center
HealthSource Consumer Edition
To access these sites, use your library card on the www.tscpl.org site, look on the left hand side of the page, scroll to Research heading, select Databases A-Z, choose "H" and when prompted, enter your patron card number without any spaces, and PIN.
Good public access websites include:
The US Department of Health
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention
World Health Organization
National Library of Medicine
Medline Plus
