Turn Your Mouse into a Paint Brush!

image

This website is a fun and easy way to create a painting in the style of Jackson Pollock.
http://www.jacksonpollock.org/
> Turn your mouse into a paint brush.
> Click and drag to paint all over your onscreen canvas.
> Click to get a new color.
> Press the [Space Bar] to start again.
If you want to print your masterpiece choose Print Preview first and then change your page layout to landscape. This will keep from distoring your perfect painting.

Pictured at the top is my painting. Have fun creating your own!

Don’t know who Jackson Pollock was? Read about him at these websites or check out the books I’ve listed below in the children’s area.

Paul Jackson Pollock (January 28, 1912 – August 11, 1956) was an influential American painter and a major figure in the abstract expressionist movement. Pollock’s technique of pouring and dripping paint is thought to be one of the origins of the term action painting. With this technique, Pollock was able to achieve a more immediate means of creating art, the paint now literally flowing from his chosen tool onto the canvas. By defying the convention of painting on an upright surface, he added a new dimension, literally, by being able to view and apply paint to his canvases from all directions.
