The Business & Investment Center (BIC) at TSCPL is participating in the NaviGate program, a consortium of business resource providers in Shawnee County.  The four major partners of NaviGate are the Greater Topeka Chamber of Commerce, Disadvantaged Business Enterprise, Washburn Small Business & Development Center, and SCORE.  NaviGate’s mission is to provide a complete and focused support system for emerging businesses in Topeka and Shawnee County.  What makes this program new and unique is that we are developing a system wherein NaviGate partners are on the same page, steering the entrepreneur to the right agency or resource provider to customize consultation for that person’s particular business need.  Prospective entrepreneurs can get started with NaviGate by calling any of the four major partners and being referred to the one who best fits their immediate needs. 

The BIC is already a big part of entrepreneurial development in Topeka, as we supply a lot of research materials, including the BusinessDecision database, Reference USA, Business Plans Handbooks, RMA Financial Benchmarks, and many other print and online resources.  We also co-host entrepreneurial educational programs for the Washburn Small Business Development Center and the DBE.
