The Top 100 Web Sites of 2009

image

PC Magazine has announced their “Top 100 Web Sites of 2009” and the list is well worth exploring. Browse in the categories Apps, Fun, Info, News, Shopping or Tech.

As the article describes, “some things about the Web are changing incredibly fast, others seem like they’ll stay the same forever. Our list of the Top 100 Web Sites reflects that: We’ve selected 50 classic Web sites that we all know and love, and 50 new and/or undiscovered sites that you may not have heard of yet.”

Watch this slideshow of each site with colorful screenshot and brief description for a quick overview of the best of the web.

I have used enough of the sites on the classic list to be curious about the ones that I haven’t used yet. And the 50 new sites are intriguing—I plan to spend some time with  Broken Picture Telephone, That Guy with the Glasses, WorldWide Telescope, Youshouldhaveseenthis.com, Legistalker, Petrucci Music Library, and GoodGuide.

What are your favorite new web sites of 2009? Did you recognize any on this list as particularly cool or useful?
