Tax forms are now available at the Library!
Tax forms are located in the SW corner of the atrium which is located in the middle of the Library. We have most federal forms and some publications. We also have the main state tax booklets. Federal forms for the coming tax year can also be downloaded at www.irs.gov and state forms at www.ksrevenue.org. Forms are also available at the local IRS office at Townsite Plaza, 120 S.E. Sixth St.
Please ask at any desk if you have trouble finding the forms.
In addition, tax assistance will be available at the Library starting Tuesday, February 3 and ending April 14. The Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program will be at the Library three days a week to help you with your taxes. Sign up will be at the information desk as in previous years and VITA will be in one of the auditorium rooms (101A, B, C).
Times VITA will be available:
Brochures for other VITA tax assistance locations and times can be found at the Library.

How do I know If I am eligible for the hope and lifetime learning credits?
Excellent question, unfortunately staff at the Library can not give out tax advice!
However, I did find some information on the IRS website. Here is their answer to qualifications for the Lifetime Learing credit and the Hope Credit.
Hope that helps!
Jeff
