What is "Born Learning"?
United Way of Greater Topeka has partnered with local hospitals, health providers, libraries and others to distribute books for new parents to read to their babies and to create a “Born Learning Club”. Born Learning is designed to provide parents and other caregivers with tips and advice on how to create quality learning opportunities to help young children prepare for school, and a wealth of early childhood education materials can be found at http://www.bornlearning.org/. There are tips for learning on the go, answers to help care for young children; fact sheets on a child’s ages and stages, and much more. It’s all available in Spanish as well.

Am I correct in assuming that this program ties in the library’s “Born to Read” program? What is TSCPL’s role in the new collaboration?
Jim McH
Jim, I believe this new program works to provide literacy and early education information ( and several free books over baby’s first year) The former “Born to Reas program ended and this is a new different program in which the library is one of several partners.
