I happened to be looking at a yarn store this weekend and came across this book Retro Knits: Cool Vintage Patterns for Men, Women, and Children from the 1900's through the 1970's. This book has some really great patterns in it. I particularly like the 1930's and 40's sweater patterns that have been resized to fit people of this day and age. New needle and yarn recommendations are also given to work these patterns. But what is so interesting is that the patterns are shown with the original images from the pattern itself. There is something for everyone, from a beginner to an advanced knitter in this collection of patterns. From a sweater to a simple scarf, anyone with some knitting experience could knit one of these patterns.
I came back to the library to see if we have it but we do not. But all is not lost. I can do an interlibrary loan for the book and still enjoy it. If I had not felt comfortable doing an interlibrary loan, any of the librarians at any of the service desks can do that and it usually does not take long at all. So, if you are interested in a great book of vintage patterns to knit, this could be the book for you. If you decide to do an interlibrary loan for the book, let me know what you think of it. And, just keep clicking the sticks.
