It’s a huge vehicle to highlight a huge service—it’s the 74-foot long, 18-wheel tractor-trailer that is Overdrive’s nationally touring Digital Bookmobile.  THIS bookmobile is all about today’s technologies that bring library services to your doors 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. 

Visitors to the Digital Bookmobile will be wowed by gadgetry inside, which include broadband Internet-connected PCs, high-definition monitors, premium sound systems, and a variety of portable media players. Interactive computer stations will give visitors an opportunity to search the digital media collection, use supported mobile devices, and learn how to download and enjoy eBooks, audiobooks, music, and video from the library.

The fun doesn’t have to end when the Digital Bookmobile pulls out of our parking lot either.  Patrons can access the resources Overdrive provides us (via the State Library of Kansas) anywhere and anytime through the Internet.  These include downloadable audiobooks compatible with both Windows and Apple (iPod) players, downloadable music, e-books (download the text of a book and read it on your computer or mobile device), and even downloadable video.

So come join us anytime between 10 AM - 4 PM on Saturday June 27th—the Digital Bookmobile will be in our parking lot and, believe me, you WON’T be able to miss it!
