What You’re Reading this Summer: Jennifer, Deborah and 3 Anonymous reader’s picks

image

As part of our Adult Summer Reading Program our participants shared about the books they would recommend to other patrons.  Maybe your next great read will be from one of their suggestions!

JENNIFER recommends Time Travelers Wife by Audrey Niffeneggertime travelers wife cover

My favorite thing about this book is…(it is) completely) different from anything else I’ve read.  I’m not a fan of science fiction but I loved this from page one.  I’d recommend this to other readers who like…anythng!  The great thing about this book is that it’s not for certain types of readers.  It really expanded my reading horizons.

DEBORAH recommends Sunset by Karen Kingsbury sunset book cover

My favorite thing about this book is…It was the last “Baxter family series”.  I love the way the family always pulled together through bad times and rejoiced through happier times.  I’d recommend this to other readers who like…fiction with a core of moral and Christian values.

ANONYMOUS recommends A Family Homecoming by Laurie Paige

My favorite thing about this book is…(it is) very interesting and relates to things that happen in the real world as well as being fiction and some wishful thinking. I’d recommend this to other readers who like…family-centered stories.

ANONYMOUS recommends Odd Thomas by Dean Koontz odd thomas cover

My favorite thing about this book is…different but exciting characters, lots of plot twists.  I’d recommend this to other readers who like…mysteries/suspense.

ANONYMOUS recommends Mother in the Middle by Sybil Lockhart mother in the middle cover

My favorite thing about this book is…how it epitomizes the “sandwich generation”—caring for children and parents simultaneously. I’d recommend this to other readers who like…non-fiction.

The Library’s 2009 Adult Summer Reading Program is over for this year, but be sure to check back with us next year for more summer reading excitement.
