The Girl Who Played With Fire
By Stieg Larsson
Here is another book that once you start; you won’t be able to put down. This book picks up where “The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo” left off. I had not read that book so I read it before I read this one. Even if I hadn’t read it, this one explains enough about what had previously happened I knew what had gone on. Now on to the review.
The two main characters in the book are journalist Mikael Blomkvist and Lisbeth Salander. Lisbeth is a young woman who the system has treated so unjustly. Due to this fact, Lisbeth does not trust anyone with authority. When some someone “wrongs” her, she does a thorough background check into their life. How? You ask. Quite simple, she hacks into computers. She is the best there is at hacking into computer systems. Then it is payback time. She may ruin someone financially or they may get a nighttime visit from her and her stun gun.
Now Lisbeth is wanted for the murder of a journalist who works for Mikael and his wife and her legal guardian. She was declared incapable of taking care of herself so she has a guardian. Even though she is in her twenties she has not been declared capable yet of taking care of herself. Lisbeth is a very quiet person who tells no one all of her secrets in her past.
Lisbeth saved Mikael’s life in the first book and now she must trust him to save hers. Can she? Is she capable of trusting anyone? Did she murder at least three people? Mikael is the only one who believes she is innocent. You will have to read the book to find out the whole story. I will warn you though; you will have a very hard time putting it down until you are done with it.
