Sara recommends The Dispossessed by Ursula K. LeGuin

My favorite thing about this book is…LeGuin manages to fit so much into this book, and as is the beauty of the novel, at times her assertions are contradictory. She puts to a practical test the theories of Karl Marx and Sir Thomas More’s Utopia, while also managing to write a love story that brings me to tears. Magnificent. I’d recommend this book to other readers who like…Sir Thomas More, Machiavelli, Jane Austen, Louise Erdvich, Aldous Huxley, Robert A. Heinlen, Frank Herbert, Neil Gaiman, Micheal Chabon.

My favorite thing about this book is…the twists and turns; the romance & love triangle; the exciting adventure, and the fantastical adventure about vampires and shape-shifters (into wolves) I’d recommend this book to other readers who like…romance, adventure and science fiction

My favorite thing about this book is…that it tells how two ordinary folks who never met both helped to create an amazing patriotic tune that still resonates today. I’d recommend this book to other readers who like…historical books, especially those chronicling how everyday citizens impacted the world around them.
