Same titles. Different books. How confusing!

image

Have you ever been sure you asked for the right title, but shocked when you locate the wrong book? Look at some of the confusion that can arise because book titles cannot be copyrighted.

Invisible Man by Ralph Ellison and The Invisible Man by H.G. Wells.
Both are required reading, but only one is science fiction.

March: A Novel by Geraldine Brooks and The March: A Novel by E.L. Doctorow.
Both are literary, well reviewed, and set during the Civil War.

Leap of Faith by Danielle Steel and Leap of Faith by Queen Noor
Both are Cinderella stories, but only one is a biography.

The Island by Heather Graham and The Island by Gary Paulsen and The Island by Aldous Huxley
Which Island is for you? Escape from a bully, find an ideal society, or explore the darker side of paradise.

Elements of Style by Strunk & White and Elements of Style by Wendy Wasserstein
One is a grammar usage text and the other is a new novel by a Pulitzer Prize–winning playwright.
