Welcome to the Topeka & Shawnee County Public Library
It’s time for the eternal question—the book or the movie? Which is better? and why?
Watchmen is in movie theatres today— visit the official site, read the reviews and then head to the library to check out the original graphic novel. The review site Rotten Tomatoes summarizes the reviews with the statement: “Gritty and visually striking, Watchmen is a faithful adaptation of Alan Moore’s graphic novel, but its complex narrative structure may make it difficult for it to appeal to viewers not already familiar with the source material.”
The library has lots of copies of Watchmen by Alan Moore available for checkout—if there isn’t an Express copy on the display in the atrium when you visit the library, you can also add your name to the waiting list. Obviously, this is a very hot title right now—over 30 copies have been checked out in the last few days!
