Summer is here and you know what that means…lots and lots of movie releases!  What should you be reading (besides Harry Potter) to prepare yourself for the the theater?  Here is a list, based on information I gleaned from the Give ‘Em What They Want blog and IMDB:

Opening July 10th:

• I Love You, Beth Cooper, directed by Chris Columbus, starring Hayden Panettiere, Samm Levine, Cynthia Stevenson, Alan Ruck
  • Based on I Love You, Beth Cooper by Larry Doyle

Opening July 17th:

• Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince, directed by David Yates, starring Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint, and Emma Watson
  • Based on: Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince by J.K. Rowling

Opening in August

• Julie and Julia, directed by Nora Ephron and starring Meryl Streep. 
  • Based on Julie and Julia by Julie Powell and My Life in France, by Julia Child, and also featuring Mastering the Art of French Cooking by Julia Child which plays a central role in the movie.

• The Time Traveller’s Wife, directed by Robert Schwentke and starring Rachel McAdams and Eric Bana. 
  

  • Based on The Time Traveller’s Wife by Audrey Niffenegger

Opening in September

• Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs, directed by Chris Miller and Phil Lord and starring the voices of Bill Hader, Anna Faris, James Caan. 
  • Based on Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs by Judi Barret
