Welcome to the Topeka & Shawnee County Public Library
Fall is here and this year it is not only bringing cool temperatures, but also a variety of movies based on books. Lots of these are adaptations of popular Children's books—but rest assured there are some book to movie adaptations for adults as well. So what should you be reading to prepare yourself for the the theater? Here is a list, based on information I gleaned from the Give Em What They Want blog and IMDB:

Where The Wild Things Are, directed by Spike Jonze, starring Catherine Keener, Benicio Del Toro, Forrest Whitaker and Lauren Ambrose
Also Scheduled to Open in October
The Vampires Assistant, based on Cirque du Freak: #1: A Living Nightmare, Cirque du Freak: #2: The Vampire’s Assistant, and Cirque du Freak: #2: Tunnels of Blood by Darren ShanScheduled to Open in November

The Lovely Bones, based on The Lovely Bones by Alice SeboldBe sure to check IMDB and our local theater listings for updated release dates on all of these. Enjoy reading and watching and feel free to tell us what movie adaptation you are most looking forward to in the comments below.
