Welcome to the Topeka & Shawnee County Public Library
Show and tell this week is brought to us by Carrie C. Below, she shares with us her glass fusing project and the book that she used to help her along the way.
"After finding a small glass kiln on Craigslist, I immediately started playing with it and fusing glass for small pendants and buttons. This is my first try at fusing on my own (and firing a kiln on my own) and it went amazingly well! Yay, I didn't blow up my basement!"
Carrie also had the following to say about the book Introduction to Glass Fusing by Petra Kaiser, which she used to help her create her projects: "The author presented a broad variety of projects and techniques that I might try in the future and had very specific instructions on how to successfully run a small kiln such as mine."
Thank you so much for submitting your glass fusing fun with Project Library, Carrie. We're also very happy that you didn't blow up your basement!
If you're interested in sharing some of your own creations, fill out the Project Library form and tell us about your projects: meals that you've cooked, breads and cookies that you've baked, quilts that you've sewn, volcanoes that you've erupted, papers you've written, babies you've named, pictures you've drawn, rooms that you've decorated, or dogs that you've trained. We want to know what did and didn't work for you. Send us some pictures of your work, as well as a brief description and the resources you used and we'll post your project here in the Project Library column to share with the TSCPL world.
