Malcolm X’s assassination

Today in 1965 Malcolm x was assassinated. That same year Autobiography of Malcolm X was also released. Born in 1925 in Omaha, Nebraska, Malcolm’s life would not be easy. He would go from foster care, to prison and then become an influential civil rights leader.  Written with Alex Haley, this biography covers his whole life and reveals the transformation of his life and ideas. He was assassinated in Harlem before a crowd. The movie Malcolm X is based on this autobiography.

After his death, interest in Malcolm’s life has grown. Books continue to be written about him, his views, and assassination.
