Lucy Crocker, a former artist and children’s librarian, is married to Ed, an MIT-math genius computer programmer. Ed’s educational computer software business is having trouble and their twin boys, Benji and Phil haven’t left their bedroom in months. The boys netted over $17,000 last year running a computer consultant business out of their bedroom – and they are only eighth graders! When Lucy creates the ideas and artwork for a fantasy game called Maiden Quest, it saves the company, but it doesn’t solve any problems for the family. As the deadline approaches for developing the sequel game, Lucy panics about her husband’s flirtations with a co-worker. She flees to the Wisconsin cabin where she spent her summers as a child, sends the boys camping (literally) and leaves Ed in the city to figure out what went wrong with his company, his family, and his life. As Lucy searches for the answers and searches for her self, she encounters bits and pieces from her past that point her towards the future.

If you enjoy reading about marriages, families and love, you might like this book. The realistic relationship between Lucy and her husband beautifully illustrates the cliché ‘opposites attract’. This is intelligent chic-fiction at it’s best, creatively intertwining families, careers, technology and love in an engaging and witty story.
