Lost in the Stacks: Stalking the Divine
Right now, in a small Cleveland monastery, the Poor Clares of Perpetual Adoration are praying: they pray for the people, for the city, for those who request their prayers - for twenty-four hours a day, every day, they live out their mission to pray. Journalist Kristin Ohlson found herself fascinated by this small group of cloistered nuns dedicated to prayer and after much persistence was granted access to the sisters. Why would anybody be attracted to life in a contemplative community? – a life, Ohlson discovers, that is filled with both hardships and joy. Why? - Mother James, the abbess of the community says, “It’s Jesus, really Jesus, right there. We’re going to be doing that for all eternity, adoring God. When you do this, it’s like your heaven begins on earth.”
