Welcome to the Topeka & Shawnee County Public Library
Annie and Duncan live together in a dreary English seaside town. Throughout their entire relationship, Duncan has been obsessed with an obscure 80's musician, Tucker Crowe, who quit performing over twenty years ago and lives as a recluse, denying all interviews and publicity.
When a new album of old Tucker Crowe demos is released, Duncan quickly writes a glowing review for the stalker-website he maintains about the songwriter. After Annie writes a dissenting review of the album, she begins to question more than just Duncan's musical taste. And when she gets a complimentary email from someone claiming to be Tucker Crowe, she begins a secret correspondence that could change everything.
If you have never read British author Nick Hornby before, this is a great place to start. His novels are witty romps through the complexities of lost love, featuring quirky characters, the best of whom are obsessed with music.. Juliet, Naked harkens back to Hornby's first music and pop culture themed novels High Fidelity and About a Boy. It will not disappoint current fans and is sure to win some new readers for this modern storyteller.
While you're waiting for Juliet, Naked, check out this list of readalikes and similar novels.

Lissa,
I liked Juliet, Naked much better than Hornby’s last two novels. I agree that Hornby is at his best when he writes about our relationship with art and pop culture, as he does in this and his first two novels. However, I am spoiled by his recent nonfiction books that explore his personal relationship with music (Songbook) and books (3 of them, starting with The Polysyllabic Spree), which I prefer to his fiction. Still, Juliet, Naked was a funny, quick read that I’d recommend as well.
Angela - thanks for the comment. I can’t believe I forgot to mention Hornby’s nonfiction. I agree that it is excellent and a real treat! Lissa
