A New House, a New Nightmare

image

Discovering the house was an accident. Conrad was lost and stopped at a small diner in Wisconsin and picked up a paper. There was an ad for an old restored Victorian birthing house. He decided to take a look at the house since he was trying to start a new life. His life and marriage in Los Angeles were falling apart and moving far away was his best hope or at least that is what he thought.

The house felt like home and he wanted the house, but the house also wanted him. So Conrad bought it, and he and his wife moved halfway across the country with their two dogs and their memories. The house didn't wait long to influence Conrad, and soon he began to have strange experiences. Then his wife had to leave, and it was just the house and Conrad. Caught between obsessions, dreams, and ghosts that won't let him go Conrad begins to fall deeper into the nightmare. The Birthing House by Christopher Ransom is a dark novel filled with tension and a surreal mood that leaves a haunting impression.
