It WAS an adventure! From cute furry kittens and puppies from Helping Hands (which, hopefully, were adopted) to ferrets loaned to us by a trusting customer from her personal zoo of pets…  From a guinea pig named Pete to real, live velveteen rabbits… From peeping chicks to the famous Lucille Ball Python to rolly-polly eating box turtles to snappy crawdads… And from many hundreds of "kids"—babies to adults—who only looked to those who petted, "yuck!"-ed, "cool!"-ed, laughed and asked SO many times, "Does it bite?"  Thumbs up to the 350 card-carrying members of the Critter Club who received a reward for visiting and learning about the animals.  Thumbs up to all the kids who checked out so many books that we really had to work hard to fill the Adventuremobile back up at the end of each day. Maybe you received summer reading prizes, but you've also received so much more: Whether you enjoy fiction or read to learn facts about snakes or sports or how to cook, reading promises to stimulate and elevate you in the weeks and years ahead. 

So… Again, thank you! WE HOPE TO SEE YOU ON THE ADVENTUREMOBILE NEXT SUMMER… FOR EVEN MORE FUN!!!
