Welcome to the Topeka & Shawnee County Public Library

Why do I love the library?

The Topeka and Shawnee County Public Library staff says thank you to everyone during National Library Week.

In the business word, they call you customers, in the library world, patrons. But here at the library, you are all individuals, with individual needs, wants and abilities.

This week come see us. Learn something or meet someone new. Drop by our booth in the atrium all week. We will be there throughout the week to share the hidden secrets you may not know about the library. While you are there, pick up a library sticker to show the community your pride for the library.

On Tuesday, be sure and visit our recording booth in the rotunda. We'll help you record your own thoughts on why you love the library. Don't know what to say? We can help you. Start by watching the video above, which will give you a good idea of what we're looking for.

If you can't come in, leave your comment on this blog and tell us why you love the library. We can't wait to hear from you.

Great job, Lisa!  It’s so inspiring to hear my colleagues talk about why they love what they do.  They’re awesome!

I love the library because of the diverse range of people that walk through our doors everyday. Also, it’s pretty cool that the library serves as a “one-stop-shop” for your brain!

This video is awesome!  I’m inspired to work with my amazing coworkers and with the incredible community of patrons who connect with us each day.  I cannot think of better place to share in the positive work of building a better community than here.  Thanks.
