So, I've done my homework, used the online catalog to find the call letters for -- in this case -- Big Stone Gap by Adriana Trigiani. I hunted the shelves, but couldn't find it. So, I made my way to the reference desk for more information on where it could be. For those of you who are too proud, stubborn or timid to approach the reference desk to ask for help, don't be. I found the librarians very friendly and helpful.
Not only did librarian Lissa Stanley locate the book for me – it was on a shelving cart – she told me about two other books in the series. Cool. I'll be doing a lot of reading this month because I'm still in the middle of Geek Love by Katherine Dunn, which I checked out last month and had to renew just yesterday. (Go to previous vlog post.)
While I got help in person, the library also has virtual librarians to help you with any query. Go to tscpl.org and look to the right of the Home page under the Ask a Librarian tab. Then ask your question to begin a conversation.
For those of you who have been following my posts, thanks! This is my first attempt at video blogging (or vlogging) and I would appreciate any feedback or suggestions you might have. Next up: Using the self-check machine.
