The State Library of Kansas and the Topeka and Shawnee County Public Library are happy to announce that starting today, July 31st, audio books from Overdrive http://kansas.lib.overdrive.com/ will be available for download in MP3 format.
The MP3 collection currently includes approximately 1,000 titles and should be growing throughout the coming year. These MP3 files will play on most existing MP3 players including the iPod and the Zune.
The Topeka and Shawnee County Public Library offers downloadable media including audiobooks, music and videos through Overdrive and additional downloadable audiobooks through NetLibrary. Many of these files require Windows Media Player and compatible devices. Learn more about how to use and enjoy these services here.
The library also offers an audiobook download station where patrons can use high-speed Internet access to download audiobooks from Overdrive or Netlibrary and transfer them to compatible portable media players. The download station is located at the Reference Desk in the library.
