...thank you for all the help with our meeting today. Everything was fantastic.
Dan Robinson, Kansas Dept. of Health and Environment
Dan is one of nearly 130,000 people who a meeting at the library in 2007. Since 2002, the meeting rooms have been in constant demand. Rooms may be reserved up to six months in advance and are booked on a first-come, first-served basis. Pick up a meeting room packet at the library or submit an online room request at the digital branch library, www.tscpl.org.
The library is the community gathering place to exchange ideas, access and share information, and participate in programs. Meeting space is offered at no charge to non-profit groups. This allows these organizations, whose budgets may be very limited, to spend their time and funds on the services they provide to the Topeka and Shawnee County community. Groups ranging from Toastmasters to State of Kansas departments hold meetings at the library.
Many groups, even with limited funds, are so appreciative of this library service that they donate regularly to the library. The estimated dollar value of the library meeting room space provided last year totaled $234,889. For-profit businesses pay a nominal fee to use the meeting rooms.
For groups from 3–300, our meeting service offers an array of accommodation for your group. On the second floor, four boardroom- style rooms accommodate groups of 14–18 people. On the main floor, Marvin Auditorium accommodates large events with a multitude of setup capabilities. The auditorium can be divided into three separate rooms. The library offers state-of-the-art audiovisual equipment, including videoconferencing. Ample parking with nearly 300 spaces and full service, on-site catering is available from the Millennium Café.
Bonnie Cuevas, the event coordinator, is the go-to person for information about booking a room, contact Bonnie at 785-580-4495, 8:00 am–5:00 pm, Monday–Friday, or e-mail meetings@tscpl.org.
